The Principal - Data Analyst will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for delivering timely and accurate reporting and will own the delivery of complex reports and dashboards in line with AMS Best Practice, AMS, and client policies and procedures.

They will also be working closely with the Senior Manager – Client Services to proactively manage stakeholder expectations through effective communication and will scope and deliver reporting suite enhancements.

The Principal - Data Analyst will champion quality and efficiency across reporting suites, driving consistent delivery in accordance with established roadmaps as well as provide mentorship to junior team members as needed.

Key Accountabilities:

What you'll be doing:

• Project Management:
  Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage BI projects and initiatives.
• Data Governance:
  Understanding of data governance principles and practices to ensure data integrity and security.
• Reporting and Dashboards:
  Ability to create comprehensive reports and dashboards that communicate insights to stakeholders. Receives a low number of reworks as a result of a lack of accuracy.
• Reporting utilization
• monitors and ensures high reporting utilization.
• Regularly assesses and updates the reporting suite to ensure relevance and alignment with business needs.
• Clearly communicates timelines and acts to resolve any issues that may affect report delivery proactively, seeking support from line manager or more senior members of the team as necessary.
• Acts on feedback from CSAT scores to continuously improve reporting and meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
• Data model and technical debt ownership:
  Demonstrates mastery in independently developing, maintaining, and optimizing a central data model; Ability to independently identify and deliver tech debt where appropriate by driving regular communication and documenting optimization opportunities on the account.

Skills & Experience:

You'll need to demonstrate:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Advanced Excel capabilities
• Data uploads, cleansing, and handling multiple datasets
• Tech-savvy; strong system navigation skills
• Power BI: dashboard management, modeling, and DAX
• Understanding of data transformation steps and file update flows
• File management (SharePoint), file redirects, and access
• SQL required; Python a plus
• Maintain process and documentation

• Attention to detail and monitors the accuracy of their own delivery
• Curiosity to investigate issues and fix data
• Customer Service mindset delivering an exceptional employee experience
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Willing to engage in handover activities to ensure smooth continuity of their activities when away for period of leave or absence such as sick leave
• High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in data handling
