Position Overview:

As an Audit and Compliance Officer for our coffee shop, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to internal policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and execute audit procedures, assess operational processes, and identify areas of improvement to maintain a high level of compliance and operational excellence. You will collaborate with various departments to implement corrective actions, provide training, and contribute to the overall success of the coffee shop's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Audit and Compliance Oversight:

  2. Develop and execute comprehensive audit plans to evaluate the coffee shop's adherence to internal policies, local regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.

  3. Conduct regular audits of operational processes, financial transactions, inventory management, and employee practices.

  4. Process Evaluation:

  5. Analyze operational processes to identify potential risks, inefficiencies, and gaps in compliance.

  6. Collaborate with department heads to implement process improvements and corrective actions based on audit findings.

  7. Documentation and Reporting:

  8. Maintain accurate records of audit findings, corrective actions, and compliance assessments.

  9. Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management, outlining areas of compliance strength and improvement opportunities.

  10. Training and Education:

  11. Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about compliance requirements, operational standards, and best practices.

  12. Foster a culture of awareness and understanding regarding compliance matters throughout the coffee shop.

  13. Quality Control:

  14. Ensure products and services meet established quality standards by monitoring preparation methods, ingredient sourcing, and presentation.

  15. Collaborate with relevant teams to address quality-related concerns and implement solutions.

  16. Vendor and Supplier Compliance:

  17. Evaluate and monitor vendor and supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contractual agreements, quality standards, and ethical practices.

  18. Risk Management:

  19. Identify potential compliance risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them.

  20. Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry practices to proactively adjust compliance strategies.

  21. Team Collaboration:

  22. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and human resources, to align on compliance goals and initiatives.

  23. Provide guidance to staff members on compliance matters, fostering a culture of responsibility and accountability.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in audit, compliance, or quality control, preferably in the hospitality or food service industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to coffee shops.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills for identifying compliance issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to develop practical solutions to compliance challenges.
  • Proficiency in using software tools for documentation and reporting.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Relevant certifications in audit, compliance, or quality management are a plus.
  • Willing to work in field
