POSITION TITLE: CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

JOB OVERVIEW

Oversees the company's financial management, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the smooth operation of the accounting department, reporting to the CEO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing the Accounting Department: Managing and supervising accounting staff, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining a high level of accuracy in financial records.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and relevant regulations.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing budgets, forecasting financial performance, and analyzing variances.
  • Financial Analysis and Strategy: Analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Internal Controls: Implementing and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Audit Support: Collaborating with internal and external auditors, ensuring smooth and efficient audit processes.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, preparing tax returns, and advising on tax planning strategies.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitoring cash flow, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring adequate liquidity.
  • Payroll Management: Overseeing payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and complying with relevant regulations.
  • Liaising with Stakeholders: Communicating with various departments, management, and external parties, including auditors and regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and audit processes.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Skilled in internal controls, cash flow management, and payroll oversight.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
