About the role

Gomeco Metal Corporation is seeking an experienced Import Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. As an Import Buyer, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and securing high-quality commercial kitchen equipment from global suppliers for our Commercial Kitchen Supply and Installation Projects. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with a market-leading Project Company and be part of an innovative, growth-oriented organization.

What you'll be doing

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with international suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment at the best possible price and quality
  • Conduct market research to identify new potential suppliers and evaluate existing ones
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as production planners and logistics teams, to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels
  • Resolve any supply-related issues and communicate with suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of materials
  • Maintain detailed records of all procurement activities and prepare regular reports for management
  • Continuously explore opportunities to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the company's import operations

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar import buying or procurement role, preferably in the Commercial Kitchen segment
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively liaise with international suppliers
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve supply chain challenges
  • Proficient in using procurement software and data analysis tools
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
