JOB DESCRIPTION:
An Account Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to accountants, handling tasks like bookkeeping, data entry, invoice processing, and maintaining financial records, while also assisting with financial reporting and audits. Key Responsibilities of an Account Assistant:
Bookkeeping and Data Entry:
- Maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledgers, sales and purchase ledgers, and journals.
- Entering financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Processing invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Reconciling bank statements and other financial data
Bookkeeping and Data Entry:
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail, phone calls, and emails.
- Filing and organizing financial documents.
- Preparing and distributing financial reports.
- Assisting with budget preparation and financial analysis.
Financial Operations:
- Processing payments and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Collecting payments from clients and chasing outstanding debts.
- Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and other financial requirements.
- Assisting with financial audits.
