Job Responsibilities:
- Achievement of banquet revenue targets in all event segments; Corporate, Meeting, M.I.C.E., Socials, and Weddings
- Develops and implements a comprehensive event management strategy aligned with the hotel's overall objectives and revenue targets.
- Collaborates with the Sales and Marketing teams to identify opportunities for attracting new clients and maximizing revenue from event bookings.
- Conducts market research and stays informed about industry trends to ensure the hotel remains competitive in the events market.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and individual customers to understand their needs and preferences.
- Acts as the main point of contact for clients throughout the event planning process, providing personalized service and attention to detail.
- Conducts site visits and consultations to showcase event spaces, gathers requirements, and tailors proposals to meet the client's specifications.
- Oversees all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, décor, and entertainment.
- Coordinates with various departments within the hotel, such as event service, kitchen, housekeeping, and engineering, to ensure seamless execution of events.
- Develops detailed event timelines and schedules, assigns tasks to team members, and monitors progress to ensure events are delivered on time and within budget.
- Fosters a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes creativity, innovation, and teamwork.
- Sets and maintains high standards for service quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction across all events hosted at the hotel.
- Conducts post-event evaluations and gathers feedback from clients and guests to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Implements best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and excellence in event execution.
- Works within the hotel's Human Resources Department to ensure the departmental performance of subordinates is productive. Duties include:
o Planning for future staffing and management needs
o Recruiting in line with the hotel's guidelines
o Preparing a detailed onboarding program for new Sales employees
o Maintaining a comprehensive, current, and customer-focused set of departmental standards and procedures and overseeing their implementation
o Ensuring training needs analysis of employees is carried out and training programs are designed and implemented to meet needs
o Conducting probation and formal performance appraisal in line with the hotel guidelines
o Maintaining up-to-date staff records and approving leave requests, etc.
o Coaching, counseling, and disciplining subordinates, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance
o Regularly communicating with subordinates to maintain good relations Financial Responsibilities
- Works with the Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing in the preparation and management of the hotel's and department's budget. Duties include:
o Prepare and manage a cost-effective budget with measurable targets for the department within the financial parameters set down by the hotel's budget committee
o Effectively monitor and analyze variations from the budget
o Develop systems that measure the cost-effectiveness of the department
o Develop procedures that track, report on, and control the running costs of the department. Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Responsibilities
- Demonstrates Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensures all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and
- Ensures that all subordinates follow OH&S policies and procedures Government Compliance
- Ensures completeness and validity of necessary permits and licenses
- See to it that the company adheres to existing laws governing the industry
Qualifications:

- Wide connection of clientele, suppliers and relevant people in the industry.
- Driver in event strategies.
- Strong core event management skills such as budgeting, marketing, sponsorship acquisition, and risk assessment.
