Laboratory Operations Manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry; Licensed Chemist required.
  • 5–8 years of experience managing laboratory operations (Food, Environmental, or Hardlines).
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams (QA/QC, R&D, production, safety, regulatory).
  • Strong background in budgeting, resource planning, and vendor/stakeholder management.
  • Familiar with ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ASTM).
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FDA, CE marking, and environmental regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities
:

Operational Leadership & Compliance

  • Partner with Tower Leads to drive operational processes, compliance, and customer fulfillment.
  • Ensure smooth workflow of laboratory operations, from test request intake to final reporting, in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain adherence to good laboratory practices, safety standards, and housekeeping protocols.

Financial & Business Management

  • Manage the P&L of the business lines, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Approve and monitor inventory levels and capital expenditures to optimize utilization and control costs.
  • Support business development through project assessments, feasibility studies, and collaboration with sales and marketing teams to achieve revenue targets.

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop laboratory personnel, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and engagement.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and implement career development programs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Customer Engagement & Technical Support

  • Act as primary technical support representative, addressing client inquiries, concerns, and service requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering timely, accurate, and high-quality services.
  • Conduct company presentations and client technical trainings, as required.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Monitor and analyze laboratory results and operational outcomes, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Stay updated on industry and technical developments; ensure best practices are implemented and shared with the team.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives that enhance service quality, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.

Strategic Planning & Vision

  • Develop and execute the vision, goals, and long-term plans for laboratory and operational growth.
  • Align operational strategies with overall business objectives to ensure sustainable success.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Managing Director.
