Work from Home, Philippines Flexscale Full time ₱90,000 - ₱120,000 per year

We're looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to provide on-call production support and rapid response coverage for a critical system window. This is a short-term contract (2–4 weeks to start) with a strong chance of extension.

Schedule: 3:00 PM–11:00 AM AEDT (Melbourne)/ 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific (Los Angeles)

Engagement Details:

  • Start: ASAP
  • Duration: 2–4 weeks to start (likely to extend)
  • Coverage: On-call during the window above, with rapid response to production issues, small fixes, and safe hot patches as needed

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and troubleshoot live backend systems during coverage hours
  • Diagnose issues quickly by reviewing logs, alerts, and metrics
  • Deploy minimal-risk fixes and patches to maintain uptime
  • Communicate incident context and resolutions clearly to the core engineering team
  • Maintain strong incident-management practices and proper CI/CD discipline

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience troubleshooting backend systems in production
  • Strong debugging and log-analysis skills
  • Familiarity with cloud-native stacks (AWS or GCP), PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues
  • Hands-on experience with and/or Python
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Excellent written communication (clear Slack handoffs, short Loom updates, crisp ticket notes)

Nice to Have

  • Experience in e-commerce or Shopify ecosystems
  • Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Sentry, OpenTelemetry)
  • Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
