The Senior Accounting Officer will assist in the financial strategy, planning, and operations of Polaris Reinsurance Brokers, Inc.

Part of your responsibilities will be to handle the accounts payable, processing of all documents for filing to all government agencies, and coordination of activities and affairs of the Finance and Accounting Department of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • responsible for the reconciliation of accounts payable to reinsurers/cedants
  • responsible for the reconciliation and preparation of remittance forms and submission to reinsurers
  • prepare all reimbursements for check preparation
  • assist in collecting reinsurance premiums and reinsurance recoveries, cash calls on losses from local and foreign reinsurers
  • handles the recording of cash disbursement book
  • assists in the reportorial requirements under the company
  • performs and attends to the daily administrative of the department
  • responsible for the inventory of office supplies and recommendation for purchases as needed
  • responsible for the weekly checking of the closing binders booked in the monthly production register
  • handles the preparation/filing of the following reports to government agencies: Insurance Commission, City Hall, BIR, SEC
  • assist in all other departmental duties and responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field (CPA license preferred).
  • Additional training in financial management, taxation, or insurance accounting is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Background in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services industry preferred.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with BIR and other regulatory requirements.
  • Solid understanding of Philippine accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with reinsurance / brokerage financial processes (premium collection, claims payments, commission accounting) is a plus.
