Key Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices, manage payments, and reconcile accounts. Monitor customer payments and outstanding balances to ensure timely collection.
  • Reconcile daily cash flow and bank accounts for all restaurant locations, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Post and reconcile journal entries, ensuring accuracy in financial records and adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and other financial reports. Provide insights into restaurant profitability and cost control.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure accurate inventory reporting, including tracking food costs and monitoring inventory variances.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and assist in the preparation of tax filings, including VAT/GST, employee taxes, and other applicable taxes.
  • Assist in analyzing financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability, particularly in areas like food costs, labor costs, and overhead.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and assist with internal or external audits as needed.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager, Restaurant Managers, and other departments to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an accountant, ideally within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP).
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance.
  • Understanding of restaurant-specific accounting needs, including cost of goods sold (COGS), food and beverage inventory management, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
