Job Title: General Accountant

Job Summary:

The General Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping, preparing reports, and supporting the organization in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and government regulations. This role involves handling daily accounting tasks, reconciliations, and assisting in financial audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly financial reports covering profit and loss, internal management reports and cash flow statements
  • Collaborates with Division Managers with budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Coordinate budget schedule and review budgets received from Division Managers
  • Provide mid-year budget projection and updates against actual expenses
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reports.
  • Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly banking and intercompany reconciliations
  • Provide backup for A/P, A/R and G/L posting and month-end reporting.
  • Perform commission computation, earnings analysis, and data validation.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Providing regular updates to management regarding company finances.
  • Other tasks related to the current designation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA license is an advantage but not required.
  • Proven experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and government compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero).
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidentiality.
