  • Payment Processing:Receive and process patient payments via cash, checks, credit cards, and insurance claims.
  • Receipt Issuance:Accurately issue official receipts for all payments received.
  • Financial Record Keeping:Maintain organized records of all financial transactions, including daily income registers and cash flow reports.
  • Billing Inquiries:Address patient questions regarding bills and services, and provide clear explanations of charges.
  • Insurance Assistance:Assist with insurance forms and process approvals for Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) coverage.
  • Cash Reconciliation:Reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift and prepare daily cash and check reports.
  • Deposits:Make cash and check deposits at the bank on designated days.
  • Customer Service:Greet patients, provide directions, and assist with their general needs and inquiries at the front desk.
  • Data Entry:Accurately enter daily payment activities into the hospital's management or accounting system.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with financial and billing software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills for patient interaction.
  • Attention to detail and numerical accuracy to prevent errors in financial transactions.
  • Organizational skills to maintain records and manage cash flow.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes high-stress environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare billing codes, insurance processes, and confidentiality requirements is beneficial.
