  • Hosts/Hostesses: The first point of contact who manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements to ensure smooth front-of-house operations.
  • Bussers: Clear and clean tables, set them for new arrivals, and assist servers.
  • Cashiers: Handle payment transactions and other customer service tasks.
  • Other roles: Depending on the establishment, this can also include food runners, baristas, and expediters.

Common qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience is often preferred, but many positions are open to fresh graduates.
  • Skills: Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills are crucial.
  • Education: A high school diploma is typically the minimum, with vocational or college-level training in hospitality or food and beverage services being a plus.
