Role Overview
This is a BDM-led hybrid role that combines Business Development, Sales Qualification, and Funnel Ownership.
As the Business Development Manager, you will own the sales journey from lead qualification and outbound prospecting through to closing deals and supporting long-term customer relationships. You will play a critical role in sales funnel optimization, CRM discipline, and AI-enabled sales automation, while working closely with Sales, Growth, Sourcing, and Quality teams.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional who is highly organized, data-driven, comfortable with AI tools, and confident engaging prospects across email, calls, and virtual meetings.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
· Own and manage Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) from qualification through to deal closure.
· Engage prospects through outbound emails, inbound leads, calls, and virtual meetings.
· Identify decision-makers and build strong, long-term customer relationships.
· Present pricing, proposals, and solutions aligned to sourcing and operational capabilities.
· Drive repeat business, upsell opportunities, and long-term supply agreements.
Sales Funnel & Lead Management
· Manage top-to-mid funnel activities, including lead qualification, prioritization, and scoring.
· Ensure all leads and opportunities are accurately tracked and progressed in the CRM.
· Work with Marketing and Growth teams to align campaigns with customer profiles and segmentation.
· Analyze funnel performance, identify drop-offs, and improve conversion rates.
· Maintain fast, professional lead response times.
Outbound, Inbound & CRM Discipline
· Execute structured outbound prospecting campaigns using email and sales tools.
· Manage inbound inquiries with timely follow-up and qualification.
· Maintain high standards of CRM data hygiene and pipeline accuracy.
· Track opportunities, deal stages, forecasts, and customer interactions reliably.
AI, Automation & Sales Systems
· Leverage AI and automation tools to improve lead scoring, outreach efficiency, and reporting.
· Support the development and improvement of automated sales workflows.
· Use data and reporting insights to improve prioritization and sales decision-making.
Sales Operations & Coordination
· Prepare sales proposals, quotations, and supporting documentation.
· Coordinate internally to ensure smooth order processing and customer experience.
· Liaise with logistics, finance, sourcing, and QA teams to support deal execution.
· Provide regular pipeline updates, forecasts, and sales performance reports.
Key Requirements
Experience & Background
· –5+ years' experience in Business Development, Sales, Lead Development, or Account Growth.
· Preferably from Food & Beverage, Ingredients, FMCG, or B2B supply chain environments.
· Proven experience in lead qualification, pipeline management, and deal closure.
· Strong understanding of sales funnels, SQL evaluation, and lead prioritization.
· Experience handling both outbound prospecting and inbound leads.
Sales, CRM & Technical Capability
· Hands-on experience using CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
· Strong discipline in CRM data accuracy, reporting, and pipeline management.
· Experience using prospecting and engagement tools such as ZoomInfo (or similar).
· Comfortable working with AI-driven tools, automation, and sales systems.
Communication & Work Style
· Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
· Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-through abilities.
· Commercially minded, proactive, and results-driven.
· Able to collaborate effectively across Sales, Sourcing, QA, Logistics, and Finance teams.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
· Sales, CRM, or business certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
