Assistant Plant Manager

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to meet production goals and enhance overall plant performance.
Provide leadership and direction to achieve cost-effective production, maximize efficiency, and maintain high-quality standards.
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce operational costs.
Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise plant staff, fostering a positive work environment.
Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations for team members.
Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and a culture of accountability within the plant.
Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality food products.
Address and resolve any quality issues promptly, working closely with the quality assurance team.
Compliance: Ensure the plant operates in compliance with local and international food safety regulations and standards.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure all permits and certifications are up to date.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient raw materials are available for production.
Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize procurement and logistics processes.
Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage the plant budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource utilization.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality or safety.
Communication: Maintain clear and open communication channels with all stakeholders, including upper management, staff, and external partners.
Report regularly on plant performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the food processing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
