JIRA ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking an experienced JIRA Administrator to optimize the existing Atlassian environment including JIRA Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.  The JIRA Administrator will design workflows, manage governance, implement automation, and integrate JIRA with enterprise systems to support scalable efficient operations across different business units within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Maintenance

  • Administer Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and related Atlassian tools
  • Manage users, roles, groups, permissions, and security schemes
  • Monitor system health, performance, and integrations; execute upgrades and patches

Configuration & Customization

  • Design and implement workflows, custom fields, screens, and automation rules
  • Build and maintain dashboards, filters, and reports for leadership and teams
  • Develop and maintain project templates and best practices for standardization

Governance & Process Optimization

  • Define and enforce Jira governance standards, policies, and documentation
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable Jira solutions
  • Ensure data integrity, security compliance, and alignment with ITIL processes

Integration & Automation

  • Integrate Jira with third-party tools and enterprise platforms
  • Automate processes using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, and REST APIs
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows leveraging Jira

Support, Training & Enablement

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for Jira-related issues and incidents
  • Train users and power users on Jira best practices and new features
  • Mentor junior administrators and support personnel

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Jira administration experience in a medium-to-large enterprise
  • Expertise in workflows, permissions, custom fields, automation, and reporting
  • Strong understanding of Agile and ITIL frameworks
  • Experience with Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, and REST APIs
  • Proven ability to integrate Jira with third-party systems
  • Experience managing complex governance and permission models
