Job Summary:
The Recruitment Team Lead plays a key role in driving the end-to-end recruitment process for both local and international seafarers. This position is responsible for ensuring that recruitment operations are compliant, efficient, and aligned with both regulatory standards and organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess deep industry knowledge, operational excellence, and strong coordination skills to maintain a robust and qualified crew pool that supports fleet requirements globally.
The Recruitment Team Lead reports to the Fleet Crew Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Operations:
Lead and supervise the recruitment team in day-to-day activities to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality hiring of qualified seafarers across all ranks and nationalities.
- Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all recruitment practices strictly adhere to international maritime regulations including STCW, MLC 2006, flag state requirements, DMW and internal company policies—upholding integrity and transparency in all processes.
- Recruitment Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement effective sourcing and recruitment strategies in alignment with stakeholder requirements and market conditions.
- Coordination with Crewing Operations:
Work closely with the Crewing Operations team to forecast and fulfil vessel-specific requirements, ensuring adequate pool strength and timely deployment.
- End-to-End Recruitment Oversight:
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: job posting, CV screening, candidate interviews, verification of documents and certifications, and execution of pre-employment checks.
- Global Talent Sourcing:
Liaise with partnered international recruitment agencies and manning partners to source competent officers and ratings as needed by fleet operations.
- Budget Management:
Ensure efficient utilisation and accurate tracking of the recruitment budget, aligning expenses with hiring forecasts and operational needs.
- Representation & Networking:
Represent the company at maritime job fairs, industry seminars, and networking events to promote the employer brand and expand sourcing channels.
- Recruitment Analytics & Market Monitoring:
Track and report key recruitment performance indicators (KPIs), monitor wage benchmarks, and provide timely insights and recommendations in response to evolving market trends.

Requirements:
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor's in Marine Engineering or Marine Transportation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maritime crewing or seafarer recruitment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of international maritime regulations, certification processes, and compliance standards.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High ethical standards and attention to detail.
- Additional Skill Requirements (Good to have): Demonstrated ability to manage multi-national hiring and collaborate with global partners.
