  • Develops, implements, and enforces health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Conducts regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the kitchen, dining, storage, and food preparation areas (HIRADC, JHA, Work Methodology).
  • Monitors compliance with food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and sanitation requirements.
  • Investigates accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepares reports and recommends corrective/preventive actions.
  • Filing and documentation of accident and illness for DOLE compliance.
  • Conducts safety training and orientation sessions for new and existing staff on topics such as proper food handling, emergency procedures (fire and earthquake drill) and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), 8hrs mandatory BOSH Training.
  • Ensures all safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits, signage) is maintained and accessible.
  • Coordinates with local health authorities and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
  • Maintains up-to-date safety documentation and records, including incident logs, inspection reports, and training records.
  • Leads or participates in safety committee meetings and emergency drills.
  • Promotes a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in safety performance across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • 40 hrs. Training of Occupational Safety and Health, With SO2 certificate.
  • HACCP, or other safety-related credentials is an advantage.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience as Safety Officer in related field.
  • Knowledge in local labor (DOLE) and food safety laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with safety inspection tools and techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to train and influence staff at all levels.
  • Proficient in report writing and documentation.
