The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing safety policies, monitoring compliance with occupational health and safety standards, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The role involves conducting inspections, risk assessments, and training programs to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend preventive measures.
  • Facilitate safety orientation and training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Monitor the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
  • Maintain and update safety records, permits, and certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulatory bodies such as DOLE and other safety standards.
  • Promote health, safety, and environmental awareness throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in occupational safety and health.
  • Strong knowledge of government regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain composure in emergencies.
