Job Summary:

We are looking for a Lighting Design & Controls Specialist with a background in Architecture or Electrical Engineering to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lighting design principles and lighting control systems. This role involves collaborating with architects, engineers, interior designers, and clients to develop innovative, energy-efficient, and visually compelling lighting solutions. This role requires night shift availability.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lighting design concepts and layouts for interior and exterior projects, including commercial, institutional, and residential spaces.
  • Create and manage 2D/3D lighting models using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools.
  • Specify lighting fixtures and control systems (e.g., DALI, Lutron, Crestron, KNX) and prepare technical documentation and schedules.
  • Perform lighting calculations, photometric studies, and simulations using Dialux, AGi32, Relux, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to integrate lighting and controls, provide expertise, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lighting technologies, sustainability standards, and building codes.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in lighting design or architectural visualization.
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling tools (SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD).
  • Strong knowledge of lighting principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical drawings, including luminaire schedules.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and lighting components.
  • Experience with lighting calculation software (AGi32, Dialux, Relux).
  • Knowledge of BIM workflows and integrated project delivery.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills; strong command of English.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to work graveyard/night shifts.
