Architectural CAD Drafter
Do you have an eye for detail, a passion for design, and a love for turning technical directions into clean, accurate drawings? Are you looking for a remote role where your CAD expertise and organizational skills help bring residential lighting and low-voltage designs to life? If that sounds like you, this might be the perfect opportunity.
Our Story Starts with People Like You
The two founders, best friends, were running businesses that needed great talent fast. So, they started building remote teams across countries like the Philippines, Colombia, and India. Not only did it work, it thrived. They realized that talent isn't limited by geography. With today's technology and high-speed internet, we're able to build high-performing global teams that support businesses across the U.S. So ClearDesk was born.
Today, ClearDesk helps U.S. businesses grow by building world-class remote teams. We don't just connect talent; we manage the entire experience, from recruiting to retention. And while we help clients thrive, we also stay deeply committed to helping our remote team members build real, lasting careers that support their lives and their families.
That's where you come in.
The Role: CAD Designer
Imagine being the person who ensures every line, layer, and symbol is exactly where it needs to be. The one who transforms design concepts into clear, professional plans that teams and clients can rely on. When the design team needs reflected ceiling plans, system layouts, or precise documentation, you've already delivered, accurate, organized, and ahead of schedule.
As a CAD Designer, you'll play an essential role behind the scenes, supporting the design and engineering teams. You'll work closely with team leads to create and maintain detailed plan sets, follow technical instructions, and apply standard templates to ensure consistency across all drawings. Your ability to stay organized, self-manage tasks, and adapt quickly to revisions will make you a key part of the project workflow.
And the best part? You'll do it all from the comfort of your home collaborating remotely with a talented, design-driven team.
What Your Days Might Look Like:
- Create, update, and maintain 2D plan sets for residential lighting and low-voltage system designs
- Ensure symbols, icons, and layers are accurately placed, scaled, and consistent with design standards
- Follow technical instructions and apply standardized templates for all drawings
- Produce reflected ceiling plans, elevation diagrams, and layout drawings from design team direction
- Use color coding and symbols to distinguish system components (lighting, AV, security, networking, shading, etc.)
- Collaborate with team leads and designers for alignment, revisions, and updates
- Attend internal Zoom meetings and, on occasion, design reviews with clients
- Self-manage priorities, complete edits, and proactively solve design-related challenges
- Maintain organized digital file structures and documentation for easy access and version control
Who We Think Will Thrive in This Role:
- You have experience creating technical drawings and maintaining 2D plan documentation
- You have a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to precision
- You have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple files and revisions
- You have strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new tools quickly
- You have excellent time management skills and reliability in meeting deadlines
- You have clear communication skills — both written and verbal
- You're a self-starter, proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working remotely
- You have a background in architecture, drafting, design, or a related field (a plus)
- You are willing to work in a US time zone schedule.
You can secure the required technical setup, including:
At least a 720p HD webcam
- A noise-canceling headset
- A primary internet connection of at least 25 Mbps
- A backup laptop, backup internet device, and backup power source
- A main computer with at least Intel Core i5 (or equivalent) and 8 GB RAM
- A backup computer with at least Intel Core i3 and 4 GB RAM
Why ClearDesk?
Because we believe work should be meaningful, even from home.
At ClearDesk, you'll work with clients who respect your time and value your skills. You'll join a remote-first team that genuinely supports you, and you'll see the impact of your work in real, tangible ways that matter to the people you work with.
We don't just want you to do your job. We want you to grow with us, stay with us, and feel proud of the difference you're making.
