In this role, you will lead the technology deliverables for a global tax compliance project. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, technology, and business stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of technical solutions that meet compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions. This position requires a strong technical background, project management expertise, and the ability to navigate complex, global projects.
Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Planning:
- Define and manage the project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with business and compliance goals.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones for all IT/technical components of the tax compliance project.
- Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and potential roadblocks to ensure project success.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all technical aspects of the project.
- Plan and manage resources effectively across global teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with tax, finance, and legal teams to understand compliance requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Partner with technology teams to ensure the development, testing, and deployment of required systems and tools.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, consultants, and external partners as needed.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and progress to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Drive team coordination and deliverables across time zones (Sydney, India, London).
Technical Oversight:
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of IT systems and tools to support global tax compliance.
- Ensure technical solutions align with the organization's IT architecture, security standards, and compliance requirements.
- Manage data integration and reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues in collaboration with IT teams.
- Understand how data is processed and transmitted across platforms like Oracle, Coupa, and PDP.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the testing strategy to ensure the quality and functionality of all technical deliverables.
- Coordinate with QA teams to plan and execute various testing phases, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Facilitate the creation of test cases, scripts, and scenarios to validate compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
- Track and resolve defects and issues identified during testing in collaboration with development teams.
- Ensure that all testing activities are completed on time and meet quality standards before deployment.
- Support testing oversight in collaboration with a dedicated Testing Lead.
Team Management:
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Provide guidance and support to technical teams to address challenges and achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- Experience in IT project management, with a focus on global or compliance-related projects.
- Experience in tax compliance, financial systems, or related domains is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, data integration, and software development lifecycles.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, tax compliance software, or financial systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with global tax compliance requirements and related technologies is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management tools like JIRA and collaboration tools like MS Teams.
- Proven track record of managing complex, global IT projects from initiation to delivery.
- Expertise in project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, Scrum.
- Strong risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and guide teams to success.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field.
