Role Purpose

The Learning & Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning initiatives that build workforce capability, support business goals, and drive organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a strategic L&D roadmap aligned with Company's business objectives, including skills development, leadership pipelines, and capability building.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments and competency audits across departments to identify skill gaps and learning priorities.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs (both internal and external), workshops, e-learning, coaching, and on-the-job training relevant to employees at various levels (operational, managerial, executive).
  • Oversee the learning calendar, budget, and resource allocation; ensure efficient use of training providers/vendors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR / People & Culture, Operations, Sales, Marketing, etc.) to ensure training programs are relevant, appropriately timed, and integrated into business processes.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on effectiveness of training interventions (pre/post assessments, competency improvement, ROI, performance outcomes) and make continuous improvements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning: support knowledge sharing, mentoring, succession planning, and retention of key talent.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, safety, and industry standards in all learning programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, Education, or a related field. Postgraduate degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
  • Solid experience (e.g. 5-8 years) in Learning & Development or Training in FMCG, manufacturing, or similarly fast-paced industries.
  • At least 2-3 years in a leadership / managerial role, overseeing L&D programs, teams, or large initiatives.
  • Strong skills in instructional design, adult learning theories, facilitation, and training evaluation.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning modules, and learning technologies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Data/systems minded: able to track KPIs, analytics, budgets, and provide insights to senior leadership.
