OB SPECIFICATION

  • Graduate of any 4-year Computer related course, preferably a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering (COE), Electronic & Communications Engineer (ECE), and Information Technology (IT)
  • Knowledge of TCPIP, LAN, WAN, Network Security, VOIP, Telco Circuit Management is preferred
  • Has intermediate to advance knowledge in IT Network/System administration
  • Knowledgeable in latest Windows platforms) and Linux Platforms
  • Knowledge in different database such as SQL Server, MySql, Postgresql, DB2, Hana, MariaDB and other equivalent database platform
  • At least 2 years working experience as an IT Network/System Admin/Database Admin or equivalent
  • Knowledge in network cabling, termination and documentation
  • CCNA and other industry standard certification is an advantage
  • Has problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Can easily adapt to technology changes
  • Has a good oral and written communication skill

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for the users
  • Responsible for all aspects of network administration including desktop and server systems, communications hardware/software and office systems
  • Responsible in administering, installing, configuring, supporting and designing mixed LAN/WAN environment, switches, routers, firewalls and related devices
  • Responsible for implementing network change request as directed by the business
  • Assist in providing assessment for the development of reliable, cost effective, robust technical architectures for new server systems
  • Responsible in troubleshooting network and database issues and outages
  • Responsible in maintaining database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability and security
  • Responsible for the maintenance and administration of database systems configuration, security, backup and restore, patch and upgrade and other related database administration function
