SGA – Solar Grid Alternatives, Inc. is a leading solar energy solutions provider in the Philippines, specializing in high-quality, large-scale, and commercial solar projects. We are looking for a Solar Design Engineer who will play a key role in designing efficient, reliable, and high-performance solar systems — including utility-scale and solar farm projects across the country.

Key Responsibilities

As a Solar Design Engineer for large-scale solar projects / solar farms, you will be expected to:

  • Lead and/or support detailed design of utility-scale rooftop and ground-mounted solar farms (large MW range) from conceptual stage through to construction-ready designs.
  • Perform site assessments and feasibility studies.
  • Produce PV layout and electrical designs: panels/modules layout, string layout, inverter placement, and etc.
  • Structural design coordination: work with structural or civil engineers to ensure foundations, mounting structures, and support systems meet load, wind, seismic, and other local regulations.
  • Prepare bills of materials (BOM), technical specifications, equipment schedules, procurement input.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant local & international standards, permitting requirements, utility interconnection / regulatory approval processes.
  • Provide engineering input during construction: perform design revisions as needed, ensure constructability and implementation fidelity.
  • Participate in testing & commissioning, field validation, post-installation performance check & troubleshooting.
  • Document designs and maintain engineering records, drawings, as-built documentation.
