Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
  • Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred, depending on country requirements).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in formwork or structural design (experience with major formwork systems is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of formwork engineering principles, construction loads, and structural analysis.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, or RSTAB).
  • Familiarity with formwork safety standards and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and develop detailed formwork and falsework design drawings, layouts, and calculations based on project requirements.
  • Select suitable formwork systems (traditional, modular, or proprietary) to optimize cost, safety, and construction efficiency.
  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations for formwork systems, including load assessments and material strengths.
  • Review and approve formwork shop drawings and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with project teams, site engineers, and suppliers to resolve design-related issues during construction.
  • Ensure that all formwork designs adhere to project specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., ACI, BS, or Eurocode).
  • Provide technical support during tender, planning, and execution phases.
  • Conduct site inspections and design verifications to ensure proper implementation of formwork systems.
  • Assist in the development of design templates, standards, and best practices for formwork engineering.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design quality, efficiency, and safety.
