We are looking for a passionate and skilled Japanese Line Cook to join our kitchen team in an authentic Izakaya-style restaurant. The ideal candidate has experience in preparing Japanese dishes such as yakitori, karaage, sashimi, donburi, and other izakaya favorites — and thrives in a fast-paced, casual dining environment.

This role includes service charge sharing, plus opportunities to grow within a dynamic and culturally rich kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook Japanese dishes according to recipes and standards (grill, fry, prep stations)
  • Maintain proper portioning, quality, and presentation of all dishes
  • Support smooth kitchen operations during service
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of workstation at all times
  • Assist in inventory control, proper storage, and rotation of ingredients
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines (HACCP)
  • Coordinate with the Head Chef and other line cooks during peak hours

Qualifications:

  • At least 1–2 years of kitchen experience in a Japanese restaurant or izakaya
  • Knowledge of basic Japanese cooking techniques (e.g. grilling, frying, knife skills)
  • Able to work under pressure in a busy, team-oriented environment
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physically fit and capable of standing for long hours
  • Open to learning and improving Japanese culinary skills
  • Must be professional, punctual, and respectful to team members
