Head of Application – Life Asia

Job Purpose

The Head of Application – Life Asia is responsible for understanding the PLUK LifeAsia application, ensuring its efficient enhancement, support, and maintenance through proper impact analysis. The role ensures system reliability, performance, and alignment with business and IT strategy.


Principal Accountabilities
  • Enhance and maintain the PLUK Core Administration System.
  • Work closely with other front-end system teams to ensure a robust end-to-end software lifecycle.
  • Align Application Management functions with company strategy.
  • Define and document scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with business teams to identify and propose efficient solutions for business needs.
  • Analyze problems and implement appropriate technical solutions.
  • Prepare technical specifications and maintain documentation of changes.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing.
  • Complete assignments within agreed deadlines.
  • Perform quality analysis of programs/systems before acceptance testing.
  • Partner with Business Analysts to deliver robust and error-free applications.
  • Ensure all development and implementation activities comply with IT governance policies.
  • Conduct technical reviews and quality checks on junior team members' code to foster learning and motivation.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in AS/400 and SMART/400-based insurance applications, specifically Life/400 and Life/Asia.
  • Experience working with LifeAsia SOAP APIs.
  • Proven ability to develop, customize, enhance, maintain, and support Life/400, Life/Asia, and Integral Life Insurance software systems.
  • Strong analytical and coordination skills.
  • Experience in conceptual and functional business process modeling.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry is an advantage.
  • Strong relationship management and fluent English communication skills.
