Accounting Project Head

The Accounting Project Head will lead and oversee all ongoing and upcoming process improvement initiatives. This role will serve as the central point of coordination between the accounting team, other departments, and management to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of improvement projects aligned with the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads all accounting process improvement projects, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Assesses existing accounting workflows (e.g., AP, AR, GL, cost accounting, reporting) to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or standardization.
  • Develops and implements project plans, including defining objectives, timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline end-to-end accounting processes.
  • Monitors project performance, tracks milestones, and prepares regular progress reports for management.
  • Recommends and implements best practices in accounting process governance, documentation, and controls.
  • Supports system enhancements or ERP-related improvements affecting financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Ensures knowledge transfer and sustainability of improvements post-project.
  • Ensures compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Preferably a CPA
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a leadership or project management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, system implementation, or transformation projects within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, internal controls, and ERP systems.
  • Project management certification (PMP, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) is an advantage.
