POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the organization to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, team leadership, and cross-department collaboration to support overall business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's long-term goals.
  • Work with executive leadership to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and process improvement.
  • Lead the planning and execution of operational initiatives.

Operational Oversight

  • Manage the company's core operations, including supply chain, logistics, customer service, procurement, facilities, and production (as applicable).
  • Ensure operational excellence by standardizing workflows and establishing KPIs.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to drive improvements.
  • Team Leadership & Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Ensure proper staffing and workforce planning based on operational needs.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Develop and manage operational budgets.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure operations comply with legal, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead efforts in crisis or incident management when needed.

Technology & Systems

  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to improve systems, tools, and software used in operations.
  • Lead or support digital transformation and automation initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 8–15 years) in operations management, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of compliance and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
