PLANT SAFETY AND POLLUTION CONTROL SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:
The Safety and Pollution Control Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and environmentally compliant workplace by implementing safety protocols, monitoring pollution levels, and promoting sustainable practices. They oversee safety management systems, conduct inspections, and ensure adherence to environmental regulations to prevent accidents and reduce environmental impact.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments across site operations.

  • Monitor and control air, water, and waste pollution in compliance with local and national environmental regulations.

  • Identify potential sources of pollution and recommend corrective actions.

  • Coordinate and oversee pollution control measures, including waste management, emission controls, and effluent treatment.

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with environmental permits.

  • Investigate accidents, safety incidents, and pollution complaints; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.

  • Conduct safety and environmental awareness training for employees and management.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and pollution control activities.

  • Inspect the regular waste disposal to the third party and ensure no hazardous waste must include during the activity.

  • Keep up to date with regulatory changes related to occupational safety and environmental protection.

  • Collaborate with relevant authorities and agencies for inspections and compliance audits.

  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.

  • Act as representative of the company to the regulatory in terms of environmental and safety concern

  • Report submission of all statutory requirements to regulatory.

  • Conduct daily Monthly inspection of fire fighting equipment at the plant

Qualifications:
Educational Background:

· Must be a 4-year Course Graduate

· COSH/BOSH/LCM/HIRAC/First Aid Certification from DOLE accredited training institution.

· PCO accreditation from LLDA/DENR-EMB

Work Experience:

· Must have gained at least two (2) years of work experience in the field of safety construction industry/Steel Manufacturing/Smelter/Mining operation.

· With good knowledge of regulatory requirements (DOH, DENR & DOLE, LLDA).

· Must have good knowledge of OSH Standard implementation/ RA 11058.

· Familiarization with Environmental laws PD 1586, RA6969, RA9003, RA 9275, RA8748

· Well-versed in making of Safety Procedure such as Working at height, confined space, energy isolation, hot works and creation of equipment check list.

Others:

· Must be analytical and a good negotiator.

· Must be highly organized and systematic.

· Willing to travel for a meeting with regulators.
