Responsibilities
  • Assists the Plant Manager with the overall supervision of departmental personnel, general plant operation and maintenance to achieve the production objectives.
  • Conducts the daily inspection of all machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in good running condition.
  • Assigns, supervises and evaluates the work of the maintenance personnel in coordination with the Plant Manager.
  • Requests and follows up on outsourced technical services and additional tools needed by the maintenance section.
  • Reports machine/equipment failure and status of maintenance work to the Plant Manager.
  • Plans, organizes, directs and runs the day-to-day operations to exceed customers' expectations.
  • Coordinates with the Plant Manager to resolve plant issues in a timely manner.
  • Reviews production orders and processing schedules and makes critical decisions about workflow to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
  • Develops, implements and tracks quality control systems, using feedback to reduce scrap and waste through employee education and other efficiency improvements.
  • Sets and monitors product standards by implementing testing procedures.
  • Performs all other duties that may be required from time to time.
Job Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Plant Manager or Plant Supervisor (at least 3 years), preferably in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity and inventory processes.
  • Strong team building, decision making and people management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
