I. Position Summary

Barista make and serve beverages, such as coffee and tea, and foods, such as sandwiches, muffins, or cookies. They package coffee blends, make coffee and tea, explain menu items to customers, clean and attempt to ensure that customers are comfortable and satisfied.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods
  • Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils
  • Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality
  • Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
  • Working as part of a fun, high-energy team
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls

III. Job Requirements

  • At least college graduate with a degree of BS HRM or undergraduate
  • Must have a minimum 1 year of Barista Experience
  • Knowledgeable about basic Customer Service
  • Familiar of coffee base blends
  • Can work on a shifting schedule
  • Has a pleasing personality
  • Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills
  • Ability to walk, bend and stand for extended periods
