Job Summary:

The Credit and Collections Manager oversees the credit granting process, manages customer credit risk, and ensures timely collection of outstanding accounts receivable. This role is responsible for developing credit policies, managing a team of collection specialists, and maintaining positive customer relationships while safeguarding the company's financial interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor credit policies and procedures to minimize risk and optimize cash flow.

  • Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers through credit analysis and reporting.

  • Approve or decline credit applications based on company policies and risk assessment.

  • Supervise and lead the collections team to ensure timely collection of overdue accounts.

  • Manage the collection process, including sending statements, making collection calls, and negotiating payment plans.

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances.

  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.

  • Prepare regular reports on credit status, collection activities, and aging analysis for management.

  • Maintain compliance with relevant credit and financial regulations.

  • Foster positive relationships with customers to encourage prompt payments and repeat business.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in credit management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in credit management and collections, preferably in [industry].

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
