General Accountant

Job Overview:

The General Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting in the overall financial management of the company. This role involves maintaining accurate financial data, processing transactions, preparing statements, and assisting with budgeting and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Recordkeeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journals, ledgers, and other accounting documents.
• Ensure proper coding of financial transactions and data entry into accounting software.
• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable:
• Process and verify invoices, ensure proper approval, and schedule timely payments.
• Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances.
• Bank Reconciliation:
• Reconcile bank statements with accounting records to ensure accuracy.
• Tax Compliance:
• Prepare and submit tax filings in a timely manner, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.
• Ensure adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist with the preparation and review of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and report on variances.
• Internal Controls:
• Implement and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Audit Support:
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Financial Analysis:
• Perform financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support management with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Experience in public accounting or specific industries (e.g., manufacturing, retail, etc.) is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems).
• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

• Must be willing to be assigned in Gagalangin, Tondo, Manila.
