
Technical Pre-Sales Engineer

Job Description
• Attend meetings with clients to understand their technical needs, challenges, and business goals.
• Gather and analyze customer requirements to design suitable telecom solutions.
• Provide technical consultation and respond to client queries during the sales cycle.
• Prepare technical designs, network diagrams, and solution architecture tailored to customer requirements.
• Develop customized solutions across wireless, fiber, core network, or transmission platforms (e.g., LTE, 5G, FTTx, microwave).
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align solutions with company offerings.
• Deliver effective product presentations and solution walkthroughs to customers and stakeholders.
• Conduct proof-of-concepts (PoCs), system demos, or pilot testing when necessary.
• Translate technical jargon into business-friendly language for decision-makers.
• Support tender and bidding activities by preparing technical sections of RFI/RFP responses.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM), scopes of work, and cost estimates for proposed solutions.
• Ensure all technical proposals comply with standards, regulations, and client specifications.
• Work closely with account managers to align technical solutions with sales strategies.
• Liaise with delivery and operations teams for feasibility validation and implementation handover.
• Participate in internal design reviews and knowledge transfer activities.
• Stay updated on telecom trends, competitive technologies, and industry standards (e.g., 3GPP, ITU, NTC).
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to enhance solution offerings.
• Provide support during the initial implementation or handover phases.
• Assist in addressing post-sales technical clarifications or scope alignment.
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
• Licensed Engineer or relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CWNP, Huawei/H3C, PMP) is an advantage.
• Minimum 2–5 years experience in the telecom industry, preferably in pre-sales, technical support, or solution design roles.
• Experience in network infrastructure, wireless technologies, transmission systems, fiber optic design, or mobile technologies (LTE, 5G).
• Exposure to bidding or tender processes and client-facing technical discussions.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of telecommunications systems such as:
• Wireless (LTE, 5G)
• Fiber optics (FTTH, FTTx)
• Microwave and transmission networks
• Core and access networks
• IP/MPLS and transport technologies
• Knowledge in network design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio, Pathloss, NetAct, Atoll) is an advantage.
• Familiar with telecom standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., NTC, ITU, 3GPP).
• Skills & Competencies:
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (technical and non-technical).
• Strong analytical thinking and solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to interpret and prepare technical proposals, network diagrams, and BOMs.
• Confident in conducting technical presentations, demos, and product walkthroughs.
• Experience in responding to RFI/RFPs and creating client-specific solution documents.
• Team player with a collaborative approach to sales and engineering teams.
• Tools & Software Proficiency:
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Microsoft Visio or similar diagramming tools
• Other Qualifications:
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, site surveys, and technical workshops.
• Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
