About the Role

At Solenergy Systems Inc., we're building more than renewable energy solutions—we're building a finance team that thrives on ownership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. We're looking for an General Accounting (GA) Specialist who will play a key role in driving our month-end general ledger close and ensuring strong ownership of the Accounts Receivable (AR) function. This is a core general accounting role with an added focus on stabilizing and improving AR processes, particularly collections, reconciliation, and intercompany transactions.

What You'll Do:

Core – General Accounting (GL-Focused)

  • Execute the month-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain and clean up schedules across balance sheet & income statement accounts (AP, AR, advances, accruals, etc.)
  • Ensure all transactions are posted accurately and timely in the general ledger
  • Collaborate with other GA team members to produce audit-ready, accurate financials

Focused Area – Accounts Receivable

  • Take ownership of AR reporting and oversight, ensuring accurate billing and timely collections
  • Track DSO and collection efforts; escalate risks and follow up with internal teams and clients
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of intercompany AR/AP balances, coordinating with the AP team
  • Coordinate with the Tax team to ensure correct invoicing, documentation, and tax treatment (e.g., VAT, EWT, zero-rated)
  • Maintain a clean AR subledger; resolve discrepancies before close deadlines

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Holds a degree in Accountancy, CPA or its equivalent is a plus
  • Has 2–3 years of experience in full-cycle general accounting and hands-on AR exposure
  • Understands monthly closing processes and reconciliation standards
  • Can confidently manage AR aging, collection issues, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Solid communication and coordination abilities—especially in following up, escalating, and resolving customer or internal issues
  • A problem-solver's mindset—someone who doesn't just do, but thinks
  • Familiarity with SAP Business One or other ERP systems is an advantage
  • Willingness to contribute beyond core duties, especially during peak periods or special projects
