Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for the efficient operation of a designated section within the department. The Section Supervisor will lead a team of associates and merchandisers to consistently meet the department's sales targets through excellent customer service, effective merchandising, and operational oversight.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Customer Service
- Prepare and organize the assigned area before the store opens, ensuring all displays, lighting, and merchandise are clean, orderly, and accessible.
- Oversee the orientation, scheduling, and work assignments of associates to ensure smooth operations and excellent service.
- Provide training to Sales Associates (SAs) and promotional staff, equipping them with the necessary product knowledge and selling techniques aligned with the company's service standards and policies.
- Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service from all staff members.
II. Merchandising
- Work closely with Category Heads to manage product displays, inventory, and stock movement.
- Share product knowledge with staff to enhance their ability to serve customers effectively.
- Assist with visual merchandising and coordinate promotional displays and events.
- Submit reports, feedback, and recommendations on product performance and incidents requiring immediate attention.
- Review reports on damaged merchandise and coordinate the appropriate actions for transfers or replacements
III. Security and Safety
- Ensure that merchandise is displayed and stored properly to minimize risks of damage or theft.
- Monitor stock expiration dates and ensure items nearing expiration are removed as required.
- Collaborate with the Safety and Security team to maintain a safe environment, aiming for zero incidents related to injury or theft.
- Assist with loss prevention activities within the assigned section.
IV. Administrative Duties
- Monitor employee attendance and work schedules in coordination with HR. Ensure sufficient coverage during peak times.
- Recommend disciplinary actions for employees as necessary, ensuring adherence to company standards.
- Foster a positive and productive team environment by upholding employee discipline and morale.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and recommend further actions such as promotions, transfers, or areas for improvement.
- Report on operational matters, including overtime, staffing, and employee concerns, to the Category Head.
- Ensure that all team members are in proper attire and adhere to grooming standards while on the sales floor.
- Ensure that Plan Order forms and other relevant paperwork are completed accurately and submitted on time.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the department manager or Category Head.
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in retail or sales management.
- Proven leadership experience and ability to manage a team.
- Strong aptitude for customer service and sales strategies.
- Goal-oriented and able to thrive under pressure.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Flexible and adaptable to different situations.
- Must be willing to be assigned to work in Cebu.
