Job Description

As an Intermediate Bookkeeper, you'll manage financial records, reconcile accounts, handle payroll, and support administrative processes. You'll work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure compliance, maintain accurate bookkeeping systems, and uphold the highest accounting standards.

The Qualifications We Seek

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping

Experience:

  • Preferably some experience in bookkeeping but not essential

IT/Software Skills:

  • Proficiency in Xero/MYOB
  • Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to utilize internet and email applications (e.g., Outlook)

Your Daily Tasks

Bookkeeping Tasks:

  • Set up new clients in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and prepare engagement letters
  • Maintain and update client accounts and bookkeeping systems
  • Process accounts receivable and payable following company procedures
  • Reconcile client bank accounts regularly
  • Manage client onboarding and coordinate system access with IT
  • Prepare payroll for client staff and issue monthly invoices
  • Maintain accurate records and directories
  • Prepare BAS reports and compliance documentation

Accounting Matters Administration:

  • Attend workflow meetings and allocate jobs as needed
  • Assist with administrative tasks
  • Bookkeeping setup and milestone management

Process Management & Staff Development:

  • Ensure that working processes can be carried out in your absence.
  • Set up and maintain process manual for own position; on-the-job train for backup person.
  • Co-design induction program for junior staff and assist in bookkeeping resourcing requirements.
  • Attend to staff training needs in relation to Xero/MYOB and general bookkeeping matters.
