The IT Senior System Administration is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. S/He shall participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure, ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, messaging, collaborations applications and related procedures, lead in the back-up and recovery process of all hardware and software resources in the data center, and mentor more junior members of the System Administration team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

PRIMARY TASKS

  • Leads in the installation of new/rebuilding of existing servers and configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Leads in the daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Leads in the performance of daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
  • Leads in the application of OS patches, hot fixes and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrades administrative tools and utilities.
  • Configure/add new services as necessary. This includes Linux, Windows and AS/400 Servers, Linux and Windows desktops.
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Leads in the performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  • Leads in the maintenance of the data centers and all equipment inside it.
  • Leads in the development, maintenance, installation and configuration procedures.
  • Leads in the installation and maintenance of messaging (email and Instant messaging), collaboration software.
  • Collaborate closely with 3rd Party service provider in monitoring to identify any possible server and other data center related equipment intrusions.
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Leads in the evaluation, planning, testing, and implementation of software and hardware upgrades.
  • Maintains system documentation and configuration data for regulatory and audit purposes.
  • Collaborate closely with Helpdesk Administrator and IT BA/PM team to make sure that new infrastructure additions, modifications are properly cascaded to helpdesk team for them to properly address issues that may arise relative to additions and modifications done.

PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

  • Coach and train his/her direct reports to make sure they understand tasks, activities on a regular basis.
  • Communicate to team IT directions to make sure everyone from his/her respective teams are aligned to the whole IT and business direction.
  • Allocate right resources to make sure that proper schedules are provided to support company and IT organization needs on a regular basis.

PROCESS MANAGEMENT

  • Leads in designing or modifying existing infrastructure systems for the purpose of enhancing systems processes and information process flow.
  • Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Works with other process owners and end users to identify required changes.
  • Communicates needed changes to development team or service provider.

PROJECT EXECUTION AND MANAGEMENT

  • Leads in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Takes input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback.
  • Communicates and applies project standards.
  • Manages resources in accordance with project schedule.
  • Understands the components of running a fiscally successful project.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Acts on behalf of the immediate superior, whenever delegates to do so, within the limits set forth in the existing practiced limits of authority.

LEADERSHIP

  • Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans for teams.
  • Manages and supervises assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources.
  • Actively participates with Management to determine information requirements of departments.
  • Leads the analysis, design, and systems administration of information technology systems.

7Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or any related field.

Job Experience

  • At least three (3) years of related experience or in a similar capacity.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Related certification is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Php100,000.00 per month
