Network Operations

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining uptime and quality of the network (both media & equipment) by undertaking periodic preventive maintenance activities

• Ensures effective fault management in case of fault occurrence and periodically carries out upgrade and capacity augmentation activities as per transmission plan with no/ minimal disruption of services.
• Manages the design, planning, engineering, and provisioning of our network
• Implements service order, network modification order, and other associated activities
• Responsible for configuration and maintenance of networking equipment as needed, as well as actively participating in provisioning of network services (DPL/IPL/IDA/DSL)
• Assists at End to End testing for DPL services on both Customer and FO
• Coordinates with other NOC and other sections in the implementation of circuits, activation, deactivation, rerouting, and testing activities
• Configure and maintain various network services on different equipment for deployment and restoration such as VPN/Internet (DSL/IDA)/CCTV Camera/Transport (DPL/IPL)/DACS); modem/routers/firewall routers/switches/LAN extender/Media Converter
• Perform basic system testing and operational tasks before upgrade, activation, and restoration (installation of patches, network connectivity testing). Perform network maintenance in collaboration with the IP team (Upgrade of switches/Re-grooming of cabling/etc.).
• Provides technical support for clients and the company's voice and data networks' connectivity issues (escalated by Technical Helpdesk)
• Operates and maintains switching equipment for International Gateway Facility (IGF) operations
• Modifies routing tables and switches to ensure optimum reliability
• Monitor and coordinate with local and international partners concerning outages and issues
• Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization; ensure system availability and reliability
• Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access
• Ensures the 24 X 7 X 365 availability of our network
• Manages the operation, administration, and maintenance of core network switches, authentication, and management servers
• Attend to customer's complaint on circuit outages by isolating the circuit, troubleshooting faults, and implement corrections
• Identify, categorize, and respond to network problems and act as primary contact for troubleshooting problems, identifying cause and developing innovative solutions to prevent future recurrences
• Proactively monitors transmission system performance and ensures the highest system availability.
• Provide level 3/4 support in troubleshooting of network outages and clients' circuit concerns, and follow the standard escalation procedure to the concerned Technical Services group for proper handling
• Receives calls, provides initial isolation and trouble ticket during graveyard shift (since THD team has no nightshift duty)
• Perform other duties related to assigned tasks of the immediate superior
• Maintains service level maintenance on the overall network

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in ECE, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field (licensed ECE/certifications like CCNA/CCNP a plus).

• 2–4 years' experience in network operations, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge in IP networking, VPN, DSL/IDA, DPL/IPL, and transport systems.
• Skilled in configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and related equipment.
• Experience in network monitoring, fault isolation, preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Good understanding of network security and uptime assurance.
• Strong troubleshooting, coordination, and communication skills.
• Willing to work in shifting schedules (24/7 operations).
