Role Overview

The IT and Systems Manager will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and automating technology systems across our school network. This includes developing new workflows to improve operational efficiency, managing hardware and software requirements, providing IT support to staff, and collaborating with external vendors to ensure smooth operations. This role is critical in supporting our educational environment by ensuring all systems are reliable, efficient, and aligned with organizational goals.

Working within the Operations team, the IT and Systems Manager will partner with Shared Service teams and other stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions. The role requires strong technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key ResponsibilitiesSystems Management and Process Optimization

  • Maintain existing systems to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Design, develop, and customize automated workflows using tools such as Microsoft Power Apps and Zapier.
  • Integrate Power Apps with Azure services and data sources, including SharePoint, SQL Server, and Dataverse.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Microsoft 365 and Application Support

  • Provide IT support for Microsoft 365 applications, including Dynamics 365, SharePoint, and Power Apps.
  • Use programming skills, including C#, JavaScript, and Power Fx, to support system customization and automation.
  • Manage SQL databases for data organization, queries, and reporting.
  • Develop and customize web applications using HTML, CSS, and ASP.NET.
  • Work with vendors to resolve complex technical issues and ensure system reliability.

Network and Hardware Management

  • Maintain network infrastructure to ensure consistent connectivity across all school locations.
  • Coordinate with vendors to provide staff with necessary hardware, including laptops and peripherals, and resolve technical issues.
  • Support the IT team in troubleshooting network and system problems efficiently.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in IT management or a similar role.
  • Proven experience with network administration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra, SharePoint, and Power Apps.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple school sites.
  • Experience managing vendors and external IT service providers.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms such as Formstack and Zapier.
  • Prior experience working in an educational environment.
