Systems Configuration and Release

This position will own the Deployment and Configuration of application/system releases, both manual and automated. This person is also expected to coordinate schedule and details of the releases across the involved team and clients. The releases can be inclusive of new applications and application updates due to change of application specifications, system patches, security improvements, software/server services and hardware upgrades.

DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide guidance to the involved team/s in the release/configuration process and requirements.
• Coordinate schedule of deployment, secure deployment/configuration details and documents from support/project team, including approvals.
• Review applicability of the project/application release/deployment instruction
• Perform actual deployment/implementation to different application/systems environment.
• Review/improve applications release implementation and back out plan.
• Provide inputs for the risk assessment of the application/ software services.
• Set up and Configuration of System Environment
• Web Server
• Application
• Database Server and Schema
• Other servers, software, elements and services required based on the System/Application Architecture
• Coordinate /Set up and configure the required resolution to Server and application vulnerability issues
• Perform Live/Production actual release implementation.
• Evaluates application releases in conjunction with involved parties, and ensures the approved implementation plan has been followed and requirements have been met.
• Communicate failed releases/tasks to involved parties and back-out procedure is followed/carried out as planned.
• Assists in analyzing failed releases/tasks and determines/suggest permanent solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
• May act as an escalation point/assist in troubleshooting, for/of unresolved issue/s in non-production and production environment
• Ensures effective Transition of application / system deployment artifacts to client liaisons/counterparts for all client managed system environment

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and other related courses.
• At least 5 years of experience in System/Server Administration, Application Development or Release and Configuration Management
• Experience in management and configuration of Server Operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Solaris, Redhat Linux) and other related technologies
• Experience in the configuration of Relational Database Management platforms (Oracle, Sybase and MS SQL and My SQL)
• Experience in the configuration of different application servers/services (My SQL, MS SQL, IIS, Apache Tomcat, PHP)
• Experience in set up and configuration of Virtual machines/Servers, Docker and/or related technologies
• Knowledge and experience in security patching, server hardening, and other vulnerabilities management.
