Job Title: Contract Review Specialist

Job Description: Innovative and progressive law firm based in California specializing in contract review for clients across the tech industry seeks diligent and eager-to-learn Contract Review Specialist to join our team on a remote basis. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication skills capable of multi-tasking and managing tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of contract law, analytical skills, proactive mindset, and a strong desire to grow in their role and contribute to the strategic goals of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze contracts, amendments, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with client policies and legal requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contract terms and conditions.
  • Assist in drafting and revising contracts to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Support the negotiation of contract terms with clients and their vendors, partners, or customers.
  • Help maintain and update contract templates and databases.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the firm.

Qualifications:

  • Law degree from top law school.
  • Minimum 3 years experience working as an attorney.
  • Must be willing to work California hours.
  • Basic knowledge of contract law, commercial agreements, and legal principles.
  • Experience in any of the following is preferred but not required: contract review, software licensing, SaaS, data privacy, working in-house or supporting in-house legal departments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and review.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented. Capable of multitasking and managing tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Fast learner with a willingness to learn, eager to collaborate, receive feedback, and adapt to new challenges.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Legal drafting, review, and negotiation.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, especially its redlining tools.
  • Proficiency in using Google Workspace, e.g., Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Meet, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Sheets.
  • Proficiency in using AI tools or willingness to learn and adopt them.
