Network Operations Specialist

Objective

We are looking for a Network Operations Specialist with 3+ years of experience in network operations, administration, or engineering. This individual will be a key player in monitoring, managing, and optimizing our organization's network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

The ideal candidate will have high-level experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Network Protocols: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
  • Hardware: Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade network equipment from vendors like Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet.
  • Security: Expertise in firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
  • Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with network monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds.
  • Troubleshooting: Skilled in root cause analysis (RCA) and creating post-incident reports.

This specialist will work closely with internal IT teams and external partners to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and support critical network-related projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Network Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor, analyze, and maintain our LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, firewalls, routers, and switches. Respond to and resolve network incidents and performance issues in line with service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintenance & Configuration: Perform routine maintenance, configuration, and upgrades of network hardware and software. Support new deployments, migrations, and infrastructure projects.
  • Network Security: Implement and enforce network security best practices. Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls to ensure compliance.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and update all network documentation, including diagrams and operational procedures. Provide detailed root cause analysis and post-incident reports for major events.
  • Performance & Optimization: Assist in capacity planning, performance tuning, and overall network optimization. Contribute to continuous improvements in network resilience and efficiency.
  • Collaboration & On-Call Support: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT teams and external partners. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide essential after-hours support.

Qualifications and Background

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certifications: Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience: Proven hands-on experience with enterprise networking equipment.
  • Soft Skills: Must be an analytical and collaborative problem-solver who can troubleshoot under pressure. A strong attention to detail and a commitment to service excellence are essential.

Job Type: Fixed term

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Php40, Php50,000.00 per month
