Role Purpose & Environment

Purpose: This position fulfils various day-to -day network maintenance operations, business-as-usual, projects, and in charge of different client provided or third-party database.  Role focuses heavily on ISP level network technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANS, etc

Environment: Command-line and database management

Responsibilities

· Analyse, prepare and write network configurations as part of but not limited to:

  • US and Asia transit and IX peering management
  • Provider Edge device maintenance
  • Pro-active resolution of potential network issues and provide fix if ongoing
  • Act as escalation point for network issues

· Maintain, work on various database / workspace:

  • IP address database
  • Internet Route Registries and Regional Internet Registries
  • Update and work on Confluence, MRTG, Grafana, Salesforce, internal ticketing systems, etc
  • Monitor, check, generate reports relating to network health

· Work on projects as assigned by client

Skills and Experience Required

· Graduate of BS IT, Engineering, or equivalent field

· Must have hands-on command line experience on production level network devices (at the very least 3 years)

· Required Knowledge:

  • IPv4, IPv6 address and subnetting
  • Routing (layer 3) and switching (layer 2) technologies such as BGP and its operation and concepts, OSPF, MPLS, Route-maps, QoS, PPPoE, VPDN, QinQ, VLANS, Trunks, etc

· Good verbal and written English communication skill

· Candidates with prior experience on the network filed of a service provider is preferable

· Nice to have but not required:

  • Cisco or Juniper certifications focusing on networks
  • Linux knowledge
  • Phyton scripting
  • has an idea of what /how Internet route registry and Regional internet registry works

Work conditions:

· Monday to Friday rotating shift schedule

· Ways of communications within and externally: MS Teams, Email
