About the Role

We're seeking a
QA Specialist
who can independently own the quality assurance process for ongoing projects. You'll focus mainly on manual testing—using strong QA discipline and best practices—while also exploring opportunities for lightweight automation when feasible.

You should be able to learn the business context fast, design effective test coverage with minimal guidance, and problem-solve independently when faced with unclear specs or evolving requirements. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative and doesn't need handholding to move work forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute manual test cases across web and data-driven systems.
  • Validate new features, bug fixes, and integrations against business logic and requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using standard QA tools.
  • Apply QA best practices in test case design, regression testing, and release validation.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and data teams to clarify expected behaviors.
  • Learn and understand system workflows and business rules quickly to create meaningful test coverage.
  • Suggest and implement small-scale automation (if applicable) to improve efficiency.
  • Manage own testing schedule and deliverables with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of work experience in QA, primarily in manual testing.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, defect life cycles, and test documentation.
  • Comfortable testing web-based or data-driven applications.
  • Experience using tools for test management.
  • Basic familiarity with any automation tools is an advantage but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work through ambiguity.
  • Proactive, self-managing, and capable of delivering results with limited instruction.

Preferred

  • Experience in startup or project-based environments.
  • Exposure to data validation, backend testing, or workflow-heavy applications.
  • Interest in learning automation tools gradually while maintaining strong manual QA discipline.
