Job Summary:

The Service Advisor acts as the liaison between customers and the service department. They are responsible for understanding customer needs, scheduling service appointments, providing repair estimates, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the repair process. The role requires strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, and a commitment to delivering a top-tier customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Accurately document customer concerns and vehicle symptoms.
  • Schedule service and repair appointments efficiently.
  • Provide detailed cost estimates, timelines, and service explanations.
  • Coordinate with technicians to determine service needs and communicate progress to customers.
  • Upsell additional services when appropriate based on vehicle inspection reports.
  • Maintain open communication with customers regarding service status, delays, or changes.
  • Ensure all repairs are performed to the highest quality and completed on time.
  • Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Process invoices and payments upon service completion.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dealership services, policies, and promotions.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the service reception area.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or automotive certification preferred).
  • Previous experience in a service advisor or customer service role, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in service management software and general computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
