Executive Chinese Chef

The Executive Chinese Chef leads the culinary team, specializing in authentic and innovative Chinese cuisine. Responsible for leading the team, both through effective communication and by example. Your primary responsibilities will involve creating and refining recipes specifically Chinese (dimsum and siopao) and various cuisine, conducting experiments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new products or menu items and ensure the successful development and launch.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of Food Costing and Cost efficiency program
- Foster a team-first atmosphere for all employees
- Manage the team through performance management, scheduling, hiring, progressive discipline, and regular feedback
- Plan, design, and create authentic Chinese menus that reflect traditional and modern culinary trends.
- Supervise and manage all kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
- Control inventory, order supplies, and manage food cost to maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with management to develop promotional strategies and special events.
- Maintain consistency in flavor, portion, and presentation across all dishes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Innovate and experiment with new recipes or seasonal dishes to enhance the dining experience.
- Manage kitchen schedules and assign tasks to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Address customer feedback and resolve any food-related issues professionally.
- Keep up-to-date with culinary trends and continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Perform and assist all other tasks not stipulated on this document but required by the company
- Following company rules and regulations as specified in the Company Handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Chinese cuisine with product development and innovation is a plus
- Additional Certification in Culinary Arts, Food Safety, or Product Development is an advantage
- Must have a background in culinary innovation, menu development, or product creation specific to Chinese cuisine
- Proficient in using software applications for recipe documentation, data analysis, and presentations.
- Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks under pressure
- Ability to communicate in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent time management abilities
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
- Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment.
- Passion and pride for delighting people with food.
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
- Willing to travel
