The HMO Evaluation/Collections Coordinator is responsible for the timely submission of Statement of Accounts to affiliated HMOs.
Greets courteously and attends promptly to patient's basic inquiries or refers such to staff concerned.
Answers telephone calls and takes messages.
Receives from Charge Clerks assigned at the different Ancillary Services the detailed charge slips of all
patients who availed benefits from HMOs.
- Evaluates all the charge slips and Statement of Accounts (SOAs) including all HMO required support
documents such as Guarantee Letters/Letter of Authorization (LOA), diagnostic result and ensures that
they are properly filled up/compiled as per HMO requirement to facilitate payments by HMO to the
Hospital.
- Segregates copies of the charge slips and SOAs for copies intended to 1) Patient, 2) Accounting, and 3)
HMO.
Submits segregated copies of charge slips and SOAs to Accounting for the Hospital to bill the HMO.
Follows up HMOs regularly the status of the release of HMO payment to the Hospital thru phone calls,
emails and other available communication mediums.
Records the details of the payment (cheque) for OR issuance.
Coordinates with the messenger, under the Office of the Administrator, the timely collection of payment
from the HMOs.
- Receives HMO returned documents and resolves/completes discrepancies and to re-endorse the
completed documents to meet the HMO payment requirements.
Elevates to superior the discrepancies as necessary.
Submits within 24 hours an Incident Report on any event that poses danger to the patients, staff and to
the Hospital as a whole.
- Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by the Immediate Superior from time to time.
Educational Qualification
· College Degree preferably Business Administration, major in Accounting
Experience
· At least one (1) year clerical experience in a hospital setting.
